Tumblr Bio: I started this Tumblr for inspiration and to serve as a way to give some. This journey has been hard but it’s made a little easier when you see people are going on it with you!
How I got here: Growing up, I was always very active so I maintained a slim body for all of my teenage years and into my early twenties. Then life kicked in and I was working & going to school full time while living in NYC, a fast food mecca! After a while things caught up with me, I wasn’t nearly as active as I was before and exercise, for whatever reason, never occurred to me. I didn’t have the time or the resources to correct my behavior so it resulted in me gaining close to 80 lbs in a 8 year period. I looked in the mirror this past March and decided I didn’t want to look and feel like this anymore. I didn’t just want to lose weight and get skinny, rather I wanted to get FIT and be in the best shape of my life and be as healthy as I possibly can. I’ve learned so much since I’ve started, and accomplished a lot as well. Having my husband go through this with me and being apart of the Fitblr community has definitely helped me come this far…so I thank you!
What I’m doing: I started this fitness path with Power90 by Beachbody. It’s a 3 month program so once I was done I started Power90 Master Series (a much more challenging program). You work at this program for as long or little as you like as opposed to 90 days. It’s designed to groom you for what lies ahead…P90X. About a month and a half into it I stopped it to do the Ultimate Reset by Beachbody which is a type of cleanse that’s 21 days long. I lost some weight and gained some valuable knowledge about how food affects your body and how you feel. Now that I’m done with the cleanse I’m starting the Master Series again and I’ll continue it until I feel like I’m ready to move on to P90X which is my ultimate fitness goal!
What I’m Eating: I’ve never had such a healthy diet in my life and I owe this mostly to the Ultimate Reset. It taught me so much about food, and opened my palate to a lot of different things that I probably would never have tried before. I’m currently eating mostly fruits and vegetables with some grains mixed it. Since this cleanse left me in a vegan state and of course, with a clean diet, I’m contemplating staying this way…or as close to it as possible. I plan on adding some animal proteins back into my diet such as organic yogurt and omega-3 Eggs, but I may have the occasional chicken or beef dish as well (antibiotic, free range, and grass fed only of course) I guess I plan on becoming a flexitarian of sorts. I eat everything in moderation, drink PLENTY of H20 and Green Tea, and eat everything consciously! So far it’s enabled me to lose a lot of weight, I still have more to go and a lifetime to perfect who I am slowly becoming.
